Cross Country / Snowshoeing / Walking TripsThis season we will be planning local outings to forest preserves, parks, golf courses and wherever the mood strikes. Even if there is no snow on the ground doesn't mean that you can vegitate inside. Unless it is raining or sleet is expected you can expect that a outing is still on. Until football season is over all outings will be on on the 1st and 3rd Saturday afternoons of each month meeting at 1 PM. Afterwards we can warm-up at a local eatery. But I need your assistance. If you have a "gem" of a location that the club would enjoy contact myself or Sue Peterson and we can enjoy it as a group. With that the following list will take us into January. After that I hope we will have a few new spots to try. Please tell your coworkers, family and friends about our outings. Need info regarding rentals contact me via email. I am getting a list of area shops that rent skis and snowshoes. Rick Olson, Nordic Chairman Jan. 23rd at Lakewoods Forest Preserve in Wauconda. Sitzmark is kicking some Crested Butt"e" !
Don't you dare miss this trip! Do whatever it takes to get off the week of FEB.24th to MARCH 3rd. Sitzmark is going to Crested Butte, Colorado which many of us have either never been to OR it's been many moons ago. Crested Butte has undergone a huge transformation in just the last few years. They have added more acres, more lifts, more bars & restaurants and just more of..well..everything! Crested Butte is known in Colorado for the best corduroy runs, best snow and best steeps! In fact CB has the most lift-serviced extreme terrain on the continent. Don't worry if you're still a "green" skier or boarder. CB has plenty of great beginner areas and excellent Private & Group lessons available with extremely qualified instructors. The town of CB is a laid back friendly Western
town. Similar to that of Steamboat and Telluride. Getting there
is now easier than ever too. Sitzmark will be flying direct to
Gunnison airport which is only a short 40 minutes from the
village and town. Crested Butte is located just about 200 miles
south west of Denver.
INCLUDES: Round trip direct airfare (O'Hare/Dallas/Gunnison),
transfers, 7 nights lodging at Woodcreek condos (2BR/2BA
&3BR/3BA), shuttles, 5 of 6 day lifts and club dinner party. See Crested Butte website and get into the "mood". Ski Trip PolicySign-UpYour name will be put on a trip sign-up sheet only when accompanied by payment in full, or a minimum initial deposit as follows:
Payment ScheduleBalance due on trips must be paid according to the published payment schedule or earlier. Final payment is to be at least four(4) weeks preceding the trip's departure date or earlier if the individual trip contract so specifies. If you do not make payments when required, your name will be dropped to the bottom of the waiting list. Waiting ListYour name placed on a trip waiting list only when accompanied by a deposit. The deposit will be held by the trip leader until you clear the waiting list and are added to the trip sign-up sheet. Waiting list names are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Should trip openings occur, positions are offered in the same order as names are entered on the waiting list. If the trip leader cannot contact you, he/she will call the next person. Once an individual on the waiting list agrees to go on the trip, he/she assumes all responsibilities of a person on the trip sign-up sheet. CancellationTo cancel, you must inform a trip leader. All cancellations will incur a charge of $10.00 for a week end trip and $50.00 for a week long trip plus any unrecoverable cost incurred by the Club because of the cancellation. If you cancel and a replacement is found, you will receive a full refund less the cancellation fee. If you cancel and a replacement is not found, you are responsible for any penalties incurred by the club. RefundsNo refunds will be paid until the trip has been completed.
